Old Stone Legal is committed to providing a high standard of service to every client. If something has fallen short of what you expected, we want to know, so that we can put it right and learn from it.
How to raise a complaint
In the first instance, please raise your concern with the lawyer handling your matter, as many issues can be resolved quickly that way. If you would prefer, or if the matter is not resolved, you can make a formal complaint in writing to [complaints contact name and email] or by post to [registered office address]. Please include your name, your contact details, details of your matter, and a clear description of your concern and the outcome you are seeking.
What happens next
We will acknowledge your complaint promptly, normally within [number] working days, and let you know who will be dealing with it. We will then investigate and provide a full response within [number] working days. If we need more time, we will tell you and explain why.
If you remain dissatisfied
If we are unable to resolve your complaint to your satisfaction, you may be able to refer it to the relevant body in the jurisdiction handling your matter:
- United Kingdom: the Legal Ombudsman can consider complaints about service, and the Solicitors Regulation Authority deals with concerns about conduct. Time limits apply.
- Nigeria: concerns about a legal practitioner may be raised with the Nigerian Bar Association and, where appropriate, the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee.
- Canada: in Manitoba, complaints about a lawyer may be made to the Law Society of Manitoba.
We will provide the relevant contact details and any applicable time limits when we send our final response.
This page is a draft for review. The firm should confirm its complaints timescales, the responsible contact, and the precise referral routes and time limits for each regulator before publication.
